The Opera Festival of Chicago returns with a season of celebration in its fourth season, June 27 to July 14, 2024 at venues across the greater Chicagoland area.
Premiered in 1893, "Manon Lescaut" is Giacomo Puccini's hit opera based on Abbé Prévost's novel. The tragic tale revolves around Manon's struggle between love and luxury.

Set against the backdrop of the Spanish Inquisition, Dallapiccola's opera unfolds a dark and intense narrative. The protagonist, a prisoner, becomes entangled in a web of religious and political intrigue.
