Il Segreto di Susanna Opens the Inaugural Season of the Opera Festival of Chicago

The Opera Festival of Chicago’s inaugural festival debuted on Saturday evening to a full house at the Athenaeum Theatre. Thank you to all who attended and supported the performance.

The festival continues on Wednesday, July 28 & Thursday, July 29 for Dante 700 at Artifacts Events in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago.

700 years ago Italy’s greatest writer entered his own Vita Nuova after contracting Malaria. 700 years later we celebrate the prolific impact of Dante and his Divine Comedy on opera’s rich history. This One-Night-Only event features operatic greats and hidden gems by the great masters and performed by international artists in Chicago’s most exciting new performance spaces – Artifact Events – this is not to be missed.

Puccini’s heart wrenching tale of tragic loss, faded love, illicit passion, treacherous betrayal, and a fatal fall from grace, sails into town with Opera Festival of Chicago’s main-stage production of Puccini’s Il Tabarro starring world renowned soloists: baritone Franco Pomponi, tenor Christopher Colmenero, mezzo-soprano Ola Rafalo, and soprano Jennifer Schuler. A One Night Only, musical experience that will leave a lasting impression.
