Operatic musician Doug Han has enjoyed an active career in staged and concert opera domestically and internationally, collaborating with colleagues ranging from Grammy Award-winning artists to conservatory degree candidates.
Recent credits include his European conducting debut conducting excerpts from Carmen in Sicily and joining Staatsoper Hamburg as rehearsal prompter for Il barbiere di Siviglia. Mr. Han has held coaching residencies in affiliation with several esteemed Italian institutions: the DaltroCanto Association in partnership with the Teatro Tosti of Ortona, the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival, and the Festival Bel Canto, a groundbreaking partnership between the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and Rome’s historic Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the direction of Grammy Award-winning conductor Kent Nagano. Further affiliations have included the Evelyn Lear and Thomas Stewart Emerging Singers Program
(in partnership with the Wagner Society of Washington DC), the Metropolitan Opera Guild, and regional opera companies across the United States.
Mr. Han has placed as a finalist coach / conductor for the Jette Parker Young Artist Program at London’s Royal Opera House Covent Garden and presented the long-belated US premiere of Giovanni Pacini’s 1852 opera Malvina di Scozia with Brooklyn’s Vertical Player Repertory Opera in 2016.
