Lucia Marchi received her PhD in Musicology from the Università di Pavia (Italy) in 2001. Her research interests include text-music relationship in Medieval and Renaissance music and Italian opera. Her recent publications include an online critical edition of the music and texts of Luca Marenzio’s Il quarto libro de’ madrigali a sei voci and the critical edition of Marcantonio Ingegneri’s Il primo libro de’ madrigali a quattro voci. At DePaul Dr. Marchi teaches basic and intermediate Italian classes that she enlivens with her passion for Italian music. She also teaches advanced seminars in Italian and a Focal Point course on literature and opera in 19th century Italy. In her free time, she likes to cook for friends and travel with her husband.
