Born in Naples, Italy, Floriana’s first paying job as a teenager was as a singer of jingles for TV ads. She started taking voice lessons after moving to Chicago. As a regular member of Kathy Cowan’s Women’s Choir, she has performed on many stages throughout the city, but her proudest musical achievement remains her translation of the liner notes for the Anna Russell Album?, which married her love of languages and her love of music, as well as her enjoyment in making fun of Wagner.

Happy to return to the Opera Festival of Chicago for her third season, Floriana would like to thank Kathy Cowan and Heather Wittels for musical preparation.
