Growing up in Dallas, Texas, my early musical experiences were rooted in church choirs. My passion for singing led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Choral Conducting and Vocal Performance at the University of Texas at Arlington, where I began to immerse myself in the world of music.

Following my undergraduate pursuits, I embarked on a teaching career, initially as a high school choir instructor. However, my desire had always been to step onto the stage as a solo artist and hopefully, an opera singer. Soon after, I moved to Chicago where I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Opera Performance at Roosevelt University. I have been given the opportunity to participate in three productions thus far. Roles including “Manon”, in a reduced version of Massenet’s opera of the same title. The cover role of Angelica in Puccini’s, “Suor Angelica”. And, this past March, I had the pleasure of performing the titular role in Monteverdi’s “L’incoronazione di Poppea,”.

Apart from education, being the solo musician in my family, I try my best to lend my voice to weddings, birthdays, and holiday gatherings. My lifelong connection with music was nurtured by my grandmother, from whom I learned the importance of sharing my passion. It was my grandmother who imparted the gift of her voice and the skill of playing the piano.

As for the future, I will be performing an upcoming Graduate Recital on April 25th, 2024. I will also be participating in the Chicago Summer Opera Festival 2024 season.
