Anna Laurenzo, Mezzo-Soprano
Noted for her “pathos and rich, vibrant tone” (Opera News), mezzo-soprano Anna Laurenzo has gained experience in a wide range of repertoire over her diverse career.  In early 2022, Ms. Laurenzo performed the role of Mrs. Van Buren in Intimate Apparel with Lincoln Center Theater and joined The Metropolitan Opera roster to cover Pit Singer – Mezzo 1 and Mezzo 2 in Brett Dean’s Hamlet. In 2022-2023, she made her Asian debut with Musica Viva Hong Kong as Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda, as well as her debuts with the Brooklyn Art Song Society in Erwin Schulhoff’s 3 Stimmungsbilder, Op. 12. and Carolina Philharmonic for A Night at the Opera. In 2024, returns to the Brooklyn Art Song Society for a concert entitled Les Six.
Additional engagements included a role and company debut as Dorabella in Così fan tutte with the Glacier Symphony, a return to Chicago Opera Theater as Meg Weathers in Everest, and her Carnegie Hall debut under the auspices of MidAmerica Productions as the Mezzo Soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria and Haydn’s Mariazeller Mass.
Within the standard operatic repertoire, Ms. Laurenzo has been seen and heard as Mercédès (Carmen), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Farnace in Mozart’s adventurous early work Mitridate, re di Ponto, Isabella (L’italiana in Algeri),Olga in Eugene Onegin, Ida in Die Fledermaus, and Paquette in Candide. Equally at home in contemporary music, she is a veteran of multiple world premiere productions with composers including Ricky Ian Gordon, David T. Little, Matthew Peterson. www.annalaurenzo.com
