Isabella, L’Inganno Felice

Hailing from her home state of Kansas, mezzo-soprano Christine Ebeling has performed with companies such as the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Painted Sky Opera, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, the Taos Opera Institute and the Bay View Music Festival where she won the 2018 Adrian Boyer Aria Competition. The 2022 season sees her debut with the Opera Festival of Chicago to cover Isabella in Rossini’s L’inganno Felice. Upcoming engagements this season include her debut with MiOpera as Mercedes in Bizet’s Carmen and the Alto Soloist in Amy Beach’s Grand Mass in E Flat with the Valley Chamber Chorale. Notable past roles include Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Didymus in Handel’s Theodora, Maurya in Vaughan William’s Riders to the Sea, Mother Goose in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, and Ursule in Bizet’s Béatrice et Bénédict. A frequent performer in her home base of Chicago, she sings with the Lyric Opera Stage Artists as well as Songs by Heart Foundation bringing music to people living with Alzheimer’s and dementia across Chicagoland. She holds a Master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music and a Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma City University.
