Peruvian soprano and alumna from The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and a Master’s degree holder from Northeastern Illinois University, Gisella has performed with local opera companies like the Third eye theatre ensemble, Transgressive Theatre Opera and as an artist of the ensemble AdHoc of the Newberry Consort. She has also performed in special ceremonies organized by the Consulate General of Peru in Chicago and for opera seasons and ensembles in both Peru and Chicago. She attended international programs in Europe like AIMS summer program in Graz, Austria in 2016, Orvieto Musica in Italy in 2017 and Masterclass Ischia on the Island of Ischia in 2022, as well as Viva Festival/Opera Project Columbus, Premiere Opera Vocal Arts Institute and DePaul Summer Voice program virtually.
Gisella has performed the role of La Calisto, in La Calisto, Juana Inés de la Cruz in With Blood, with Ink, and Suor Angelica in Suor Angelica, while performing full scenes of the roles of Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Giulietta in I Capuleti e I Montecchi, Salud in La vida breve and Violetta in La traviata. Winner of the Presser Foundation Scholarship in 2015 and an AIMS program Scholarship in 2016, Gisella has been a semifinalist in the Meistersinger Competition/AIMS in 2016, Camerata Bardi International Voice Competition in 2021 and in Music International Grand Prix in 2024.
