Jake Luellen, 2023 Young Artist
Jake Luellen, a native of Springfield, Missouri, recently graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance, studying voice with Dr. Chris Thompson. Since graduating he has appeared as Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Doyle (Sweet Louisa), and Pong (Turandot) with Ozarks Lyric Opera. While attending MSU, he performed Rinuccio (Buoso’s Ghost), Florville (Il signor Bruschino), and King Kaspar (Amahl and the Night Visitors) with MSU Opera Theatre. Jake is also an active concert soloist in Springfield: recently he performed Adolphus Hailstork’s cantata with tenor solo, I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes; as well as Camille Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël. He will be going back to MSU this fall for post-baccalaureate studies in vocal performance.
