Jaylene Capinpin, soprano, is a proud San Francisco Bay Area native. As a lifelong performer, Jaylene has a background in dance, musical theater, choral music, piano performance, as well as classical voice. She graduated with honors from Chapman University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. While at Chapman, she had the pleasure of performing in several opera scenes, including Carmen (Frasquita), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), and Maria de Buenos Aires (Mimi). Jaylene is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at Chicago College of Performing Arts, as a student of Elizabeth Byrne. First year performance credits include Fanette (cover) in Bluebeard’s Waiting Room and Le Converse in Suor Angelica. She is pleased to be part of Opera Festival of Chicago’s Young Artist Program.
