Jessica Sandridge, Manon Lescaut (June 29th performance)

Soprano Jessica Sandidge is praised for her “luminous strands of silver vocalism” and her “voice of both power and beauty.” Noteworthy performances include La voix humaine in a live performance recorded on a green screen, which was later screened at a movie theater in North Hollywood. Equally renowned in concert, she debuted Ivo Antognini’s A Prayer for Mother Earth, a world premiere at Carnegie Hall with the New England Symphonic Ensemble. She has sung rarely performed operas such as Donizetti’s Il Pigmalione (Galatea) with New York City Opera, and Walter, a trouser role, in La Wally with Sarasota Opera.

She has also performed internationally with Musica Viva in Hong Kong as The Merry Widow, and in recital with Opera Ischia in Italy. She was also a cover at the Metropolitan Opera for three seasons in Jenůfa, The Merry Widow, and the US debut of Nico Muhly’s Marnie. Other recent performances include: Musetta (La bohème) and Marie (La Fille du régiment) with Sarasota Opera, Mimì (La bohème) with Pittsburgh Festival Opera, and Violetta (La traviata) with St. Petersburg Opera. Upcoming performances include Eva Perón with West Bay Opera in the new opera Corpus Evita, and Musetta (La bohème) with Teatro Lirico d’Europa.
