
A native of Bucaramanga, Colombia, José Vargas Ramírez began his studies at Universidad Juan N. Corpas under Maestro Juan David Rojas, debuting in Signor Deluso and performing the world premiere of El Príncipe Feliz by David Trujillo.
In 2016, he joined the Peabody Conservatory, studying with William Burden and Elizabeth Futral. He performed Tinca in Il Tabarro and covered Ruggero in La Rondine.
After earning his bachelor’s degree, he trained with Maestro Jack LiVigni. In 2022, he was accepted into the graduate program at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts to continue refining his craft under Allan Glassman. He is currently a studio artist pursuing a Professional Diploma in Opera at CCPA.
