THERESA EGAN (professional chorus) is thrilled to make her Opera Festival of Chicago debut! She was most recently seen as the Nettie Fowler understudy, and ensemble for Music Theatre Works production of Carousel. She was also ensemble in the company’s 2023 production of Brigadoon. An active crossover singer and teacher, she has sung with companies throughout the United States and Europe. Local credits include: the Broadway in Chicago Summer Concert, Theo Ubique, and Haymarket Opera. Some of her favorite roles are: Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd), Martha Jefferson (1776), Illona (She Loves Me), Musetta (La Bohème), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), and Papagena (The Magic Flute). In addition to performing, she is the director/instructor for Theresa Egan Studios. Her students have performed with Lyric Opera, and in Broadway National Tours, in addition to local Chicago favorites Music Theatre Works, The Goodman, Marriott, Kokandy, Porchlight, Metropolis, and many more! In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog baking pies…just not the kind Mrs. Lovett makes.
