Vera Lynn Schmitz is a Chicago-based dramatic soprano, praised for her “luxurious” voice and “honest and emotional connection to text.”
Schmitz received her degree in Vocal Performance from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, after which she spent several years singing with esteemed choirs like the Chicago Symphony Chorus and the Florentine Opera Chorus, and working as a soloist with various symphonies in her home state of Wisconsin and the Chicagoland area. When the world was struck by the events of 2020, Vera made a shift back toward following her passion for opera, and has spent the time since in vigorous study for the next steps of her career.
Outside of her musical pursuits, Vera is a watercolor artist, and enjoys spending time with her husband and their German Shepherd, Mimi.
